10 steps to a new job

Summary

The first step to your goal is to write a resume. You need to approach this with all responsibility. Do not just list your previous places of work and study, but briefly explain to the employer why he needs you. Send individual resumes for each vacancy, in which highlight the experience, competencies and skills necessary for a particular position. Correctly indicate your achievements, make the information easy to read, attach the appropriate photo.
Covering letter

For your resume to attract more attention, send a cover letter to the company. The email address of the company can be found, for example, on its website. Briefly describe which vacancy interests you, why it is, why in this company, and why exactly you are suitable for it.
Phone call

The next step is a phone call. Do not call the company immediately after sending the resume - wait a couple of days. Start the conversation with your name, vacancy and date of submission of the resume. Check if your company received your resume and when it will be possible to find out the results of its consideration. Speak clearly, politely and concisely. Write a plan of your conversation on a piece of paper so as not to stumble once again. This will show you a competent person who knows how to formulate his thoughts and respects someone else's time.
Come on time

After three steps, you have received an invitation to an interview. No tardiness! Often, the HR manager conducts several interviews per day. Therefore, your delay can bring down the entire schedule, and the attitude towards you will already deteriorate. But you do not need to sit an hour in the corridor. Come 10-15 minutes before the appointed time to have time to put yourself in order and get together.
Appearance

The first thing an employer will pay attention to when meeting is how you look. Be neat, dress in line with your future position and company image. Your shoes should be clean, in the hands of a briefcase or bag, but not a plastic bag. Do not come for an interview with a cold or worse with a hangover. In these cases, it is better to reschedule the appointment.
Self-presentation

You should prepare some suggestions for the recruiter’s standard question “Tell me a little about yourself” or its other options. A few suggestions about yourself that will contain points of interest to the employer. You need to finish with logical conclusions, why you correspond to the vacancy, about previous experience, results achieved and about your motivation to work here. A good self-presentation is very important. Feel free to "sell" yourself. Tell us why you will cope with your responsibilities, and what qualities will help you with this.
Answers on questions

In an exciting situation, a good answer will not immediately come to mind. Make a list of common questions in the interviews and prepare answers to them. It’s better to rehearse them at home. Try not to leave the topic, be honest, open and avoid unnecessary details.
Interest

The eighth step is to show your interest in future work and in the employer. Show what you know about the company, its projects and development. All information can be found on the Internet.
Positive attitude

Show the location to the interlocutor, do not skimp on friendly smiles. Be optimistic and polite. Do not forget to turn off the mobile phone, do not interrupt. Try not to worry and be confident. This will inspire respect and positive feedback.
Individuality

There are no identical candidates. Therefore, the last step is your personality. Use your personal strengths in employment. If you have rich experience, then tell us more about your skills and achievements. If you are very sociable - rely on a strong self-presentation during the interview. If you are a recent student, focus on enthusiasm and a great desire to work and develop.

Each next step depends on the previous one. You should not try to jump over a step, and then a good job will not keep you waiting.
